Past Idols Get Grammy Nominations!

The Grammy Award Show is the biggest night in music. Only the very best get nominated. And it is no wonder that four former contestants of Idol are up for a Grammy in five different categories.
Carrie Underwood has gotten two nominations. One for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her song Just A Dream off of her second album Carnival Ride. And the other for Best Country Collaboration With Vocals for her song I Told You So with country music legend Randy Travis. Carrie has collected for herself in the past seven nominations and four wins.
Kelly Clarkson got a nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album for her album All I Ever Wanted. In the past Kelly has gotten five nominations and came out with two wins.
Ruben Studdard got a nomination for Best Musical Show Album for his record titled Ain't Misbehavin'. Ruben has received two nominations in the past but no win.
And Medisa has gotten a nomination for Best Pop/Contemporaneity Gospel Album for her record Freedom. Medisa has gotten two nominations also but also no win.
Best of luck to the past Idols at the Grammys! Be sure to watch the show on January 31st, 2010 at 8/7c only on CBS!

Jennifer Hudson said she was honored to be cast as Winnie Mandela, Nelson Mandela's ex-wife. Winnie Mandela was an activist and lived a life of dark controversy. The bio-pic is titled Winnie. It is slated to start filming next year in location in South Africa by local director Darrell Roodt.
‘I was compelled and moved when I read the script,’ Hudson said in a statement issued Friday by Ma-Afrika Films, co-producers of the film with Canada’s Equinoxe Films.
